My grandmother and her friends would often gather to spend time together crocheting or knitting delicate pieces of tableware to decorate their homes. Each item would be thoughtfully created - varying in size, colour, and pattern - carefully crafted to serve a specific purpose or occasion. This practice was handed down to my mother and aunts, who continued the tradition by making their own tableware. The collection of designs featured in this archive belong to my mother, Nora, my aunt, Xece, and my grandmother, Îde. They referred to this craft, and the items produced through it, as Tentene.
